Hundreds of Turks who waited in front of ECHR building on January 28, 2015 were representing 5 million Turks living in Europe and 78 million Turkish people from Turkey including our dear Armenians. Our diaspora in other countries, and those who know the facts of the period and feel sorry for the pressure put upon Turks to accept a crime not committed surely were there in heart too. Our Azeri brothers' and sisters' representatives were also in front of ECHR.
Hearing webcast talks for itself. I have no comments at this stage. All I wish is that ECHR judges reach a decision soon.
ECHR webcast is more than 2 hours, and the timing of some of the talks are as follows:
Mehmet Cengiz: 06:37-16:04, Dr. Perinçek: 16:30-21:55, Prof Pech:22:07-35:41.Prof Talmon: 1:10:26-1:27:14
It is also possible to listen to particular talks on Youtube:
Mehmet Cengiz, Barrister and Deputy Chair, Workers' Party (Turkish)
Mehmet Cengiz, Barrister and Deputy Chair, Workers' Party (Turkish)
Dr. Doğu Perinçek, leader of Workers' Party
Professor Laurent Pech, Professor of European Law and Head of the Law Department at Middlesex University London
Professor Stefan Talmon, University Lecturer in Public International Law, University of Oxford (2003-present)
At this stage some people who have earlier believed in the allegations of genocide just listening to people they trusted may now want to have a look at a few alternative sources. On "Links to websites and videos & bibliography" page of this blog various sources can be found. However I would particularly note that Katchaznouni's Manifesto Doğu Perinçek has recently announced that will be published in Armenia in its original language Armenian is available in English at Louisville University website:
Katchaznouni, Hovhannes. The Armenian Revolutionary Federation (Dashnagtzoutiun) has nothing to do any more:The Manifesto of Hovhannes Katchaznouni, First Prime Minister of the Independent Armenian Republic. Translated from the Original by Matthew A. Callender. Edited by John Roy Carlson (Arthur A. Derounian). Published by the Armenian Information Service, 1955.
