BBC news article of 22 December concerning the Bill read "The National Assembly in Paris voted by a show of hands to back the bill by a large majority, and it will go before the Senate next year."
My reaction to it was as follows in my Facebook post:
"Brit friends surprise me. This article reads "The National Assembly in Paris voted by a show of hands to back the bill by a large majority, and it will go before the Senate next year." The majority of 70 attendants with a ratio of 8,77 out of 577 MPs! I wonder if French National Assembly ever passed an important bill with such level of attendance in it shistory. I quote from Professor McCarthy : "... Yet this was the real genocide, a genocide of the Turks [by Armenians]. At the end of the war, one-third of the Muslims of Erzurum Province were dead" and I invite France to recognize this genocide as well. I also invite France to apologise to Armenians for causing death of Armenians who have supported them during an unsuccessful occupation attempt which lasted 6 months in Southeastern Anatolia in 1919 from March to September and were not allowed to join the retreating troops, and left behind to death."
Although I find the Bill offending and reproach Ms Boyer and her supporters, I am sorry that her web page was attacked by hackers. Public Radio of Armenia reports that she says :“All Frenchmen of Armenian descent, who live in France have the right, to protect the memory of their ancestors slaughtered in 1915” in her Facebook post.
I would like to ask her how come such strong diaspora could be built if Turks had really executed genocide to Armenians? Turks genocided by Armenians from 1890s onward in Eastern Anatolia have no grandchildren left to pursue their rights because Armenians eroded villages completely leaving not a soul behind like Zeve and many others. I wonder if Frenchmen of Armenian descent own killings of their granparents and if they have an apology to Turks.
